EFA Design Showcase

2026 EFA Design Showcase

The 30th annual Environments for Aging Design Showcase now offers two ways to showcase your senior living projects.

Option 1: Submit Your Project to the 30th Annual Awards Competition

For three decades, the prestigious Environments for Aging Design Showcase awards program has recognized the very best in architecture and interior design projects that represent outstanding and innovative design solutions in new or renovated senior care environments.

Does your project deserve special recognition? Our traditional Design Showcase will continue to recognize those projects that are raising the bar in senior living architecture and design. All projects will be published, with some receiving special award status: Award of Merit, Honorable Mention, or Finalist. Submit your reservation NOW and prepare your presentation for jury review by October 29.

A jury of industry experts, including senior living architects, interior designers, owners/operators, and consultants, will review and discuss all project entries to determine which projects are worthy of special honors, including Award of Merit, Honorable Mention, and Finalist recognition (see more details below).

*EFA will publish all projects that meet jury scoring requirements. Unfortunately, we do not allow cancellations after your presentation has been received.

• Entry Fee: $550 (non-refundable)
• Publication Fee*: $3,750 (one page layout); $5,750 (two-page layout)

Awards and Recognition:

Award winners will be recognized at the 2026 EFA Conference + Expo in Phoenix (March 16-18, 2026). Complimentary full conference registrations will be provided to Award of Merit (2 passes) and Honorable Mention (1 pass) winners to attend and receive awards on-stage.

We’ll also be offering conference attendees an educational opportunity to learn more about the top winning projects and earn CEU credits. More details will be announced soon!

Showcase finalists will receive a special seal on their published project page and an acknowledgement at the conference.

All projects that meet jury score requirements will be published in the Spring 2026 issue of Environments for Aging (with bonus distribution at the conference).

Option 2: Include your project in the Design Showcase (without submitting to the awards competition)

Many firms publish their work in EFA because it’s a strong, credible brand with an engaged audience, and an amazing way to showcase your firm and your client.

If you wish to have your work published without seeking an award, you can do so without incurring the entry fee or submitting a presentation for jury review. Note: The publisher has the right to refuse projects that are not within publication standards.

Projects will appear within the Design Showcase but will not be eligible for jury review or awards.

Firms will receive a publication packet for supplying materials (due by December 16).

To participate in project publication only, please contact Donna Hidalgo (contact information below) with your interest no later than October 29. Rates are the same as above, minus the entry fee. Take advantage of the Early Bird rate by securing your spot by the October 6 deadline.

In a year that’s flying by, and a time where more choices are important, we hope to have the honor of including your work in this special 30th annual showcase!
