Environments for Aging magazine has named three winners and four finalists in its 17th annual Remodel/Renovation Competition.
A panel of experts in senior living design reviewed all submissions for projects that focused on single spaces, including dining areas, lounges, activity areas, lobbies, and other resident spaces.
The 2025 EFA Remodel/Renovation Competition winners are:
- Gold Award: Battery Park by Sunrise (New York) – multipurpose/social space, submitted by HKS (New York)
- Silver Award: Willow Valley Manor Community (Lancaster, Pa.) – lobby, submitted by RLPS Interiors (Lancaster, Pa.) and CCS Building Group (Willow Street, Pa.)
- Bronze Award: The Osborn (Rye, N.Y.) – social lounge, submitted by KDA Architects (Cherry Hill, N.J.)
The four finalists are:
- The Admiral at the Lake (Chicago) – formal dining, submitted by Spellman Brady & Company (St. Louis)
- BrookMeadow at Cobb Corner (Boston) – main and private dining, submitted by Thoma-Holec Design (Meza, Ariz.)
- The Current Beverly (Beverly, Mass.) – living room, submitted by Bignell Watkin Hasser Architecture & Interiors (Annapolis, Md.)
- Mount Carmel Bluffs (Dubuque, Iowa) – Motherhouse Bistro & Dining, submitted by Pope Design Group (St. Paul, Minn.)
Winners will be recognized during the annual Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, to be held March 16-18, 2026, in Phoenix.
Environments for Aging magazine’s fall issue will also feature a special Remodel/Renovation Gallery of all projects entered in the 2025 awards program.
