Plans for Bolsa Chica Senior Care Community in Huntington Beach, Calif., were approved by the city council and planning commission, according to the Daily Pilot.
The 4-story, 203,000-square-foot community will house 134 assisted living units and 25 memory care units.
The original proposal was for a 5-story, 300,000-square-foot building, according to the news article.
Developer Hines (Houston), a global real estate investment firm, eliminated the fifth floor and 100 independent living units after listening to community concerns about the size of the project for the site.
HKIT Architects (Oakland, Calif.) completed conceptual renderings of the project. Clearwater Senior Living (Newport Beach, Calif.) will manage the property.
Construction is estimated to be completed in 25 months, according to the project website.
