2024 EFA Conference Preview

The 2024 EFA Conference + Expo heads to Georgia’s capital city Atlanta, April 13-16, bringing the senior living design industry to Cobb Galleria Centre for four days of education, networking, and product exhibition.

Keynote lineup

The 2024 EFA Conference + Expo will be anchored by three general session keynote presentations on Sunday and Monday of the event.

Sunday, April 14, 9:15-10:30 a.m, Welcome and Opening Keynote

The 2024 EFA Conference kicks off with a keynote presentation by Ethan Kross, author of “Chatter” and faculty lead at the Eisenberg Family Depression Center at University of Michigan.

Sunday, April 14, 12:15-1:45 p.m., Environments for Aging Magazine Awards Luncheon

EFA magazine will celebrate the winners of its Design Showcase, Design Champions, and Remodel/Renovation Competition programs. Editor-in-Chief Anne DiNardo will emcee the luncheon open to all attendees.

 

Monday, April 15, 2:30- 3:30 p.m., Scholarship Program + Day 2 Keynote
Meet the winners of SAGE’s David A. Green Memorial Award and Ageless Living Collaborative Senior Living Design Scholarship programs. Then Emily Esfahani Smith, journalist and author of “The Power of Meaning,” will deliver a keynote presentation.

Tour time

The EFA Conference provides an opportunity for attendees to gain insight into recent innovations of senior living designs in the host city. This year’s conference offers two tour options on Saturday, April 13. Registration is limited; visit environmentsforaging.com for more details.

T01 – Heartis Buckhead Luxury Independent Living, Assisted Living, And Memory Care Community
This 213-unit, high-rise community located in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood takes advantage of its prominent urban location to offer active, street-level amenity spaces and a design that complements the varied character of the neighborhood. On this guided tour, attendees will learn about the challenges and opportunities of vertically stacking the varied functions of an independent living, assisted living, and memory care community while meeting design and programmatic goals. The tour will take place from 1-5 p.m.

T02- Kwalu Showroom Tour and Reception
From 6-9:30 p.m., attendees can join Kwalu for the grand reopening of its newly renovated Atlanta Showroom. A reception will follow and include music, food trucks, and the 2024 Masters Tournament on the big screen.
