Terraces At CC Young

The Terraces independent living building at CC Young Senior Living will be the second phase of its masterplan. The project goal is to transform the Dallas campus in response to the need for additional independent living options in East Dallas.

The 363,000-square-foot project will include 137 new independent living units that will replace three detached skilled nursing buildings on the campus. They will rise above the tree line to offer views of White Rock Lake, an East Dallas amenity used by cyclists, runners, and boat enthusiasts.

New amenities, which are available to all campus residents, include a bar and restaurant, multipurpose spaces, coffee shop, pathway gardens, and additional parking garages.

The design team faced zoning challenges, such as height and density restrictions, which were further complicated by complex setback requirements. The team found a way to turn those challenges into an advantage by creating dramatic stair-stepped roof terraces for several units and a roof deck for a new rooftop dining venue.

The project also includes expansions of the CC Young Point building, a cultural and wellness facility. This allows the organization to support outreach efforts to East Dallas, which include using the space for free, public events such as music performances and art shows.

Expansions to the Point building include a new indoor pool, wellness center, classroom space, a large multipurpose space, a new consolidated administration center, and a new welcome center.
