The decision to open a luxury senior living community in Delray Beach, Fla., in Palm Beach County was an easy one for Tuscan Gardens Senior Living (Winter Park, Fla.) because the demand in that market for senior living communities outpaced supply, but differentiation was key.
Situated on 7.57 acres, the three-story Tuscan Gardens of Delray Beach opened in September 2020. Architecture firm 5G Studio Collaborative (Miami, Fla.) and interior design firm Mosaic Design Studio (Columbus, Ohio) collaborated to make the 136,000 square-foot distinct from the rest. The design team added a distinctive third-floor “penthouse” assisted living neighborhood called The Vineyards, featuring 16 private-access assisted living villas with full kitchens, including islands, and balconies. The third floor also houses the community’s fitness center, salon and spa, and library.
The open and airy interior of the community is decorated with plush furniture, original works of art, and soaring ceilings with high windows for an abundance of natural light. A serene color palette and use of stained wood and stone contrasts give the community an air of casual elegance.
The community also features 82 assisted living villas on the first and second floors and 36 memory care units on the first floor. Independent living units are set to break ground in 2021.
Amenities include great rooms, dining rooms featuring gourmet cuisine and a hand-picked private-lavel wine collection, lounges, fireplaces, fountains, grand balconies, Tuscan-style kitchen with a stone oven, theater, fitness center, beauty salon, spa and massage room, arts and crafts studio. Outside amenities include gardens, vineyards, walking paths, putting green, bocce ball, and croquet court.
