To address a vision for community involvement and participation in day-to-day operations, the building was designed to be open and inviting to the community-at-large. The community achieves this goal by placing inviting social spaces adjacent to the floor-to-ceiling glass entrance that encourages residents, guests, and community members to gather.

A special entry for the spa and fitness spaces invites the neighboring community into these amenities. Providing these kinds of opportunities for engagement are essential to community outreach, while also broadening the social opportunities for residents.

The Club Ridge spa includes a professional salon and spa, fitness center, private locker room with steam rooms, and an indoor pool and hot tub. Elegant touches like custom light fixtures and specially designed laser-cut ceiling grids wrap visitors in the comfort and luxury of a hotel spa atmosphere.
The Ridge Senior Living (Lakewood, Colo.) wanted to offer a luxury senior living community that would help fill a crucial senior services gap in the Denver/Lakewood area and the surrounding western suburbs. The answer was The Ridge Pinehurst, where throughout the construction process, future residents were given the option to decide the look and feel of many of the elements of the community, including the dining menu covers and the uniforms worn by the team members.
The 400,000-square-foot community opened in September and includes 180 independent living units, 96 assisted living units, and 49 memory care units, all with views of the Rocky Mountains, Marston Lake, and downtown Denver.
The overall design by Lantz-Boggio Architects (Englewood, Colo.) and StudioSIX5 (Austin, Texas) was guided with high-end hospitality in mind as exemplified by the 30-foot-high lobby featuring a curved bar with a custom backlit agate countertop and a 20-foot-long fireplace that you might find in any downtown hotel.
Additionally, the design includes a strong emphasis on maximizing opportunities for indoor-outdoor connections. For example, floor-to-ceiling glass was strategically placed throughout the social and activity spaces in a manner that optimizes views and access to the outdoors. Options for outdoor activities, including nature paths, gardening, outdoor dining, games, fitness areas, and a variety of active and passive gathering and social areas, are clearly connected and visible from the amenity and activity areas of the building.
The $190 million community also includes multiple dining venues; art studios and theater rooms; and an indoor heated pool, spa, and fitness center.
