Owner Phoenix Senior Living (Roswell, Ga.) and developer Phoenix Development Group (Roswell) wanted to bring an assisted living and memory care community to Hammond, La., that reflected the region’s unique identity.
At The Phoenix at Hammond, the interior design team at Banko Design (Marietta, Ga.) chose a Louisiana-inspired design aesthetic, leaning into the local jazz culture, history, and architecture–specifically in New Orleans’ French Quarter. For example, a custom art installation of brass instruments is displayed on top of custom millwork in the community’s music room, where floor lamps are shaped like trombones.
The team also chose to incorporate bold and saturated colors, such as emerald, gold, purples, and raspberry, and a variety of patterns that embody Louisiana’s vibrant style and charm.
The 107,000-square-foot,two-story community opened in July 2021 and includes 86 total units, comprising 63 assisted living units and 23 memory care units.
Amenities include a library, salon, game room, garden room, gym, assisted living and memory care living rooms, assisted living and memory care dining rooms, bistro, pub, memory care life stations, and various indoor and outdoor seating options.
