In April, The Terraces at Los Altos completed Phase I of the community’s transformation project, which offers 46 new residences on the 7-acre campus in Los Altos, Calif. The Village at The Terraces at Los Altos features 30 skilled nursing suites and is one of the first in California to offer “neighborhood-style” suites. The suites surround common spaces, including a kitchen and open living and dining room, and the layout is designed to increase social interaction among residents. The Village was opened on April 28.
In addition, 16 new private memory support suites at The Grove at The Terraces at Los Altos offer individualized programming for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Programming within The Grove, such as The Best Friends Approach, focuses on building relationships with residents based on individual life stories and experiences. The Grove was opened on April 10.
The completion of Phase I is part of a $100 million community transformation project that began in 2012 and is scheduled to end in 2016. Once complete, the community will provide 157 additional residences for older adults in Los Altos at all levels of care, including residential living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory support.
