Pavilion At John Knox Village Of Florida, Pompano Beach, Florida
John Knox Village of Florida Inc. continues its multiphase master plan expansion of its community in Pompano Beach, Fla., aimed to bring residents together and attract new residents seeking an all-inclusive lifestyle.
CCRC opens the Pavilion
In March, the continuing care retirement community (CCRC) opened the $35 million Pavilion, home to a 330-seat cultural arts center, two restaurants, a bar, pre- and post-event gallery space, and outdoor areas for gathering with lakeside terraces.
The architecture and interior design is inspired by the community’s location near the Atlantic Ocean as well as Florida’s modern architecture. The approach layers material texture, lighting, and pops of color, including in the flooring, lighting, furniture, and finishes.
For example, neutral creams, whites, and off-white colors are used on the walls to allow spaces to feel gracious, open, and clean. Accent colors are based on the colors of the John Know Village rebranding and include dark blue, red, light blue, and yellow.
John Knox Village to add independent living
Scheduled to open in early 2024, John Knox Village will also add the $120 million Westlake independent living neighborhood, featuring 146 residential units organized in two luxury apartment towers, the 15-story Vue and 11-story Terrace.
The same architectural style and materials and color palette from the Pavilion project will be used on the towers. Additionally, residential units will include smart home technology while the towers’ shared first-floor lobby will serve as a community hub with an art studio, projection theater, fitness center, enrichment rooms, spiritual space, and two dining venues.
