Owner Compass Living (Peachtree Corners, Ga.) developed New Haven at Little River to provide residents a luxury independent living, assisted living, and memory care community that mirrors the quaint fishing village of Little River, S.C., a city adjacent to Myrtle Beach.
Interior design firm Banko Design (Marietta, Ga.) chose a coastal aesthetic for the 178,000-square-foot site that reflects the surrounding landscape. The design team chose a color palette of blues, neutrals, and natural woods, while also specifying unique millwork details such as applied caning on door panels as seen in the upstairs dining rooms. The design team also implemented texture throughout the community by specifying wood tongue-and-groove ceilings and inset luxury vinyl tile patterns.
Opened in December 2020, the two-story community houses 91 independent living units, 44 assisted living units, and 19 memory care units, with a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom options.
Common areas include several community dining rooms, private dining, a bar, a club, activity rooms, exercise spaces, a library, a movie theater, and a salon. So residents may enjoy their warm and coastal surroundings, outdoor amenities such as walking trails, community gardens, covered patio areas and an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, are also included.
