Pelican Valley Senior Living, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota
Scheduled for completion this fall, Pelican Valley Senior Living (PVSL) in Pelican Rapids, Minn., is undergoing an $8.3 million renovation. The community, located along the scenic Pelican River, offers assisted living, skilled nursing, post-acute rehabilitation, memory care, respite stays, and hospice support.
Working with Wold Architects & Engineers (Minneapolis), the architect and interior design firm on the project, PVSL aims to improve the community through updates to its skilled nursing neighborhood and enhancements to community spaces.
Modernizing skilled nursing residences and community amenities
The project is being executed in two phases to ensure minimal disruption to operations. Phase 1 sets up temporary housing for skilled nursing residents in a wing of a former hospital building connected to PVSL.
Phase 2 will renovate 14 skilled nursing residences to deliver more modern, homelike accommodations, including new recessed lighting in the bedrooms, updated wallcoverings and flooring to an earthy palette and warm wood tones, and new residential finishes and fixtures in the bathrooms.
Existing community amenities such as the café and dining room will be updated with new flooring, furniture, and décor. A new salon and interfaith chapel will also be added.
