Ignite Medical Resort St. Peters, St. Peters, Missouri
Chicago-based owner and operator Ignite Medical Resorts expanded its portfolio with a new post-acute care community in St. Peters, Mo. Ignite, which also operates in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, focuses on a “LuxeRehab” model, according to the operator, that blends rehabilitation and skilled nursing with a hospitality-inspired aesthetic and amenities.
Opened in August, the 60,000-square-foot Ignite Medical Resort St. Peters provides orthopedic, stroke, cardiac, and respiratory care and houses 91 beds, including 69 private rooms and 12 semiprivate rooms.
Additionally, a mock house—with full kitchen, laundry, and bathroom—allows staff to evaluate residents on their readiness to return to independent living.
Hospitality-driven rehabilitation
The project team included Lawrence Group (Chicago) as architect and interior designer and MBG (St. Louis) as contractor. Together, they delivered on the hospitality-inspired aesthetic through upscale materials like natural stone skirting outside, custom wood casework at the reception area, and wood-look luxury vinyl tile throughout residential and common areas.
Additionally, the exterior of the single-story building features blue and white fiber cement lap siding with a stone wainscot, complemented by a mix of flat and gable roofs. A porte cochere at the main entrance leads into a well-appointed lobby with comfortable seating and large windows, establishing a welcoming, resort-like feel.
Inside, Ignite Medical Resort St. Peters offers a variety of hospitality-style amenities, such as a restaurant serving chef-prepared meals, spa with massage and salon services, and chapel. A café and bistro in the main lobby provide space to socialize.
Outdoor spaces are designed to be both functional and restorative. A landscaped courtyard includes seating areas, fire pits, and a combination of sidewalks and gravel paths to help residents practice walking on varied surfaces as part of their rehabilitation.
