The two-story Healthcare Resort of Topeka, Mainstreet’s newest Next Generation brand property located in Topeka, Kan., will house 94 beds (70 transitional care and 24 assisted living) in its 69,935 square feet and will provide transitional care (short-stay rehabilitation and therapy) and assisted living.

The $16 million property, situated on the west side of Topeka, offers hospitality-oriented care in two wings, each housing its own restaurant and nurses’ station on the first floor to create a neighborhood feel. The architect on the project is The Lawrence Group (St. Louis).

The property will have an interior design that reflects a coastal bungalow with warm neutrals and natural materials. This palette will be designed to create a warm, comfortable haven in an urban district.

The Healthcare Resort of Topeka will offer resident-centered care in a service-rich, hotel-like setting. Services will be built around the interests of the guests and amenities include a large therapy gym, an outdoor rehabilitation courtyard, and a game room, salon, and movie theater.

Guests will be able to take advantage of a variety of dining options, including a pub, kitchen, and restaurant-style dining on the second floor. These concierge-style services and amenities will create an inviting and comfortable environment for guests as well as families and friends.

The project is scheduled to be completed by spring 2016.
