Launched in 2013, Avanti Senior Living (The Woodlands, Texas) is a senior living development, operations, and ownership company with construction of three new Texas communities underway or about to begin: Avanti at Towne Lake, Avanti at Flower Mound, and Avanti at Vision Park. The goal of these projects is to redefine the look and feel of an assisted living and memory care community by providing a quality of life that fosters independence.
Upon entering the community, residents and visitors will have direct access to the Savor Lounge, a coffee and wine bar/lounge. The community layout next features short distances to other resident destinations, including a wellness center with a ballet bar and fitness equipment; a fully functional art studio; a theater and a full-service salon and spa offering relaxation therapy, aromatherapy, deep tissue massage, hair styling, and manicures/pedicures.
A medical suite will feature designated areas for visiting doctors or telehealth technology, along with a private exam room where medical personnel can meet with residents. An “experience coordinator” will be available at each community to customize personal preferences in regard to meals, activities, wellness, entertainment, and more, with the goal of providing a lifestyle experience that maximizes independence through personal choices, ease of control, and access to information.
The design aims to provide a posh and sleek look with plush carpets, wood flooring, expansive windows, walk-in-closets, oversized showers, stone countertops, upgraded finishings, and other features. Each community will provide 90 to 150 one- and two-bedroom suites that maximize living space and are designed with an eye on style, sophistication, and comfort.
Avanti’s memory care, called Salize, will create a serene environment. This area purposefully includes open spaces; short, easy-to-see walkways; and an abundance of natural light so residents won’t feel overwhelmed or challenged by hidden corridors. Sensory lighting will help reduce resident anxiety and improve sleep at night, programmed to mimic the natural light outside. Photographic light boards featuring collages of residents and events at Avanti will be located outside of each resident’s room, serving as additional cueing devices. Salize residents will have their own dining area, theater, salon, and other amenities.
StudioSix5 (Austin, Texas) is handling interior design for the projects, built by Oakbrook Builders (Round Rock, Texas). Avanti at Towne Lake is expected to open in April 2016, Avanti at Flower Mound is expected to open in March 2016, and Avanti at Vision Park is expected to open in fall 2015.
