Anthology of Beaverton, Beaverton, Oregon
Anthology of Beaverton, designed by Ankrom Moisan (Portland, Ore.), is a memory care, assisted living, and independent living senior living community, built to serve the growing senior population in Beaverton, Ore.
Nestled between two busy roadways and a protected wetland, the 225,432-square-foot building rests on a pile foundation to accommodate soil liquefaction, and site lighting is carefully controlled to avoid light pollution harmful to the wetland wildlife and ecosystem.
Biophilic interior design features
Reflecting the active, outdoors lifestyles of Oregonians, each of the community’s residential amenity spaces is connected to a different region of Oregon such as the coast, high desert, or old growth forests.
The design direction and aesthetic of the project provide a sense of activity and fresh air through biophilic interior finishes such as nature-inspired art and wallcoverings. Interior courtyards are available for assisted living and memory care residents as well.
The interior design reflects Oregon’s diverse landscapes, with a color palette designed to create a serene atmosphere in Anthology’s shared spaces. For example, accents of warm browns and blues reflect the rugged coastline and tranquil waters of the Pacific Northwest, while the soft hues of the high desert and painted hills are seen in memory care spaces to calm residents.
Nature-inspired material choices and finishes within the community/theater room include sparkling wall covers and high-end light fixtures that recall the crystals and minerals hidden deep within Oregon’s caves.
