WinnDevelopment, the development arm of WinnCompanies (Boston), started construction on Residences On Lincoln Square, a 55+ affordable senior living community in Worcester, Mass., according to a news release.

The $51 million project will consist of the adaptive reuse of the former Worcester Boys Club to house 16 units and the construction of a new 5-story tower with another 64 units, including a mix of studio and one- and two-bedroom units.

The new building will be all-electric, constructed to Passive House standards for energy use. Renovations to the existing 4-story building will include conversion of the basement-level basketball court to a fitness center for residents and guests.

A ground-floor, single-story glass walkway will connect the two buildings.

The project team includes Maugel DeStefano Architects (Harvard, Mass.) and F.W. Madigan Company (Worcester) as general contractor.

Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2026.
