Vashon Community Care in Maury Island, Wash., is adding a new wing for dementia sufferers. A report in the Vashon-Maury Island BeachComber confirms that the additional space is expected to be complete in 2020. The new memory care wing will consist of 16 studio apartments, common and spa areas, a garden, and trail. Reporter Kevin Opsahl writes: “The construction of the new wing comes just months after Transforming Age announced VCC would close its skilled nursing unit and transition to a memory care focus.”
