Ceremonial shovels broke ground on a new hospice facility in Barren County, Ky. According to a report on the WNKY Kentucky NBC affiliate, the new facility will be in Glasgow, Ky. “Once built, the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home will include eight inpatient rooms, kitchen and living spaces and private areas for families and guests,” wrote reporter Max Winitz. “Altogether, it will be just over 10,000 square feet.”

Last June, the T.J. Community Mission Foundation received a $2 million United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Economic Development loan through Farmers RECC (Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation) to aid in the construction of the facility. Construction is expected to take one year to complete.
