Developer Harbert South Bay Partners (Birmingham, Ala.) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on The James of Irvine, a luxury senior living community in Irvine, Calif., according to a news release.
The project will consist of 350 studio and one- and two-bedroom units for independent living, assisted living, and memory care.
Situated on 3 acres, the community will be housed in an 8-story building that also will offer multiple dining venues, a bar/lounge, indoor pool and spa, wellness gym, yoga studio, therapy rooms, salon, two movie theaters, a media lounge, art studio, and golf simulator. Outdoor amenities will include a dog park with washroom and courtyards with barbecue grills, fire pits, seating areas, a putting green, and bocce courts.
The project team will include owner and nonprofit service organization P3 Foundation (Denver); operator Momentum Senior Living (Irvine); architecture firm Van Tilburg, Banvard & Soderbergh (Santa Monica, Calif.); interior designer Rodrigo Vargas Design (Los Angeles); and general contractor W.E. O’Neil Construction (Chicago).
