Construction has started on the Ashford of Berkshire, a new senior living community in Sunbury, Ohio, according to a fact sheet from developer, owner, and operator Wallick Communities (New Albany, Ohio).
The $37.5 million project will house 114 total units—32 memory care beds, 20 studio suites, and 62 one- and two-bedroom units for assisted living and independent living residents. At nearly 96,000 square feet, the community will consist of a single building with a 3-story assisted and independent living wing and a single-story memory care wing, linked by a shared communal space.
Amenities will include a courtyard, fitness and rehabilitation center for physical therapy, salon, library, and dining lounge with full-service kitchen.
The project team includes RDL Architects (Beachwood, Ohio), engineering and design consulting firm Kimley Horn (Raleigh, N.C.), and urban design and landscape architecture firm POD Design (Columbus, Ohio).
Construction is expected to take two years to complete.
