Developer The Alpert Group LLC (Fort Lee, N.J.) broke ground on West Orange Senior Housing Community, in West Orange, N.J., according to the website jerseydigs.com.
The 65-unit affordable senior living project will include a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom options.
Five of the units will be designated as permanent supportive housing units for homeless people, who will receive services including case management, access to healthcare and treatment programs, educational and vocational training, employment and job-readiness programs, financial and life skills training, transportation, and wellness resources.
The senior living community is expected to open in late 2024.
