Renovations have been completed at Temple Pines, an affordable senior living community owned and operated by the North Haven Housing Authority in North Haven, Conn., according to the New Haven Register.

The $5.7 million project includes upgrades to the 30 units, three common areas, elevator, security and intercom systems, and landscaping. Units were overhauled with new flooring and lighting, as well as step-in-showers and wider pathways to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The project also added a new sanitation collection and disposal area.

The work was completed in 18 months without displacing residents by utilizing five rotating “hotel units,” which were refurbished first.

The project team includes architecture and design firm Shadler Selnau Associates, PC (Farmington, Conn.); the PAC Group LLC (Torrington, Conn.) overseeing construction; builders A&E Services Group LLC (Cheshire, Conn.); and housing development consultancy J. D’Amelia & Associates LLC (Waterbury, Conn.).
