Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services (Austintown, Ohio) held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on a new senior living community in Salem, Ohio, according to the Morning Journal.

On a 34-acre site, Shepherd of the Valley Senior Living Community (Salem, Ohio) will include 36 independent living villas as well as a 3-story building to house 52 independent living units and 36 assisted living units.

Amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, bocce and pickleball courts, raised gardens, a dog park, restaurant/bar, and marketplace.

The project team includes Baker, Bednar, Snyder and Associates (architect; Warren, Ohio), DeSalvo Construction (builder; Hubbard, Ohio); and Scheeser Buckley Mayfield (engineering consultant; Uniontown, Ohio).
