The eight-story Phoenix Estates II development, by nonprofit organizations Mutual Housing Association of New York (Bronx, N.Y.) and community center Nos Quedamos (Bronx), has added affordable senior housing units.
The mixed-use complex includes 48 affordable independent living units, in studio and one-bedroom options. The units for seniors are distributed throughout the building rather than grouped together and siloed off. Residents also have access to a 7,100-square-foot landscaped yard and areas for play and quiet activities.
The project team includes RKTB (designer; New York) and Galaxy General Contracting (contractor; Bronx).
