Passive House La Mora Senior Apartments Opens In Yonkers, New York

The 57-unit affordable senior living community is designed to meet Passive House standards for energy efficiency.

Nonprofit affordable housing developer The Mulford Corporation (Yonkers, N.Y.), in coordination with the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY), opened La Mora Senior Apartments in Yonkers, N.Y.

The $48 million, four-story affordable senior living community consists of 57 one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom units, according to a news release from the office of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Amenities include a community room with kitchen, two business rooms, fitness center, laundry, storage units, landscaped courtyard, and rooftop deck.

Developed on a vacant parcel once occupied by a school, the project is designed to meet Passive House standards for energy efficiency and uses modular construction technology, according to the New York Housing Conference.
