Otterbein SeniorLife (Lebanon, Ohio) announced its 47 small-house skilled nursing and rehabilitation homes have received Green House designation by The Green House Project (GHP; Linthicum, Md.), a nonprofit organization focused on creating a model of care centered around the idea of small size, home layout, and low staff ratio.
Otterbein, a nonprofit organization offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory support, respite care, home healthcare, and hospice services, opened its first small-house home in 2007 in Marblehead, Ohio, and has grown to 47 homes in 10 locations, serving up to 470 seniors. Construction is underway to increase capacity to serve an additional 90 seniors by the end of 2021.
With the addition of the Otterbein SeniorLife locations, 359 homes across 32 states that have built according to GHP standards since 2003.
