The building boom continues in the Sunshine State with Florida Construction News (FCN) reporting that the 195,141-square-foot Waterside Health Center is under construction at the site of the 700-acre Continuing Care Retirement Community in Ft. Myers, Fla.
According to the FCN article, the new facility will include 180 beds with private rooms across six levels. “The building will include a grand entrance and lobby, rehabilitation center with therapy pool, health clinic, pharmacy, dental suite, nurse stations, dining and living rooms, sunrooms, plus a salon and day spa,” writes reporter Adriana Valentina. “Additional features include a butterfly garden, chapel and prayer garden, boardwalk, gazebo and bistro.”
Weitz will serve as the project’s construction manager, while RDG Planning & Design is the architect. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2021.
