The Kitchen Inc. (Springfield, Mo.), a nonprofit organization focused on ending homelessness in the Ozarks, plans to expand the Maplewood Villas affordable senior living community in Springfield, according to the Springfield News-Leader.
Maplewood Villas opened in August 2023 with 44 units for residents 55 and older, with 11 units designated for formerly homeless veterans.
The expansion project will add 32 units of affordable housing, including eight for formerly homeless veterans. The two-bedroom units will be housed in four single-story buildings.
