Owner Lifespace Communities (West Des Moines, Iowa) completed the second in a three-phase modernization project at Oak Trace senior living community in Downers Grove, Ill., according to the website shawlocal.com.
The project focused on renovations of amenity spaces in Oak Trace’s independent living building, including the formal dining Oak Room, casual lounge gathering space, library, art studio, and lobby.
The first phase of the project added a Health and Wellness Center for assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing.
In spring 2024, the project’s third phase will culminate with the independent living expansion, which will include 140 new one- and two-bedroom luxury units, a fitness and aquatic center, multiple fast-casual and fine-dining venues, spa, performing arts center, and new clubhouse.
