Newstar Development (Tampa) and the Pinellas County Housing Authority (Largo, Fla.) held a grand opening at Heritage Oaks at Ridgecrest, an affordable senior living community in Largo, according to fox13news.com.
The $31 million community replaces 48 outdated public housing apartments with 80 affordable senior living units.
Heritage Oaks is the first phase of Rainbow Village, an intergenerational housing redevelopment, which will replace 200 outdated apartments with approximately 400 new affordable apartments for seniors, individuals, and families.
A second phase of the project will add 80 additional senior living units by the end of 2026; the third phase with 120 family units is expected to begin construction in early 2027.
