The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (St. Petersburg, Fla.) has started construction to redevelop the former Edward White Hospital in St. Petersburg as an affordable senior living community, health center, and administrative offices, according to stpeterising.com.

The 6-story, 121,000-square-foot building will house three facilities: the 71-unit Gemini Senior Living community, an Evara Health (Clearwater, Fla.) center, and housing authority administrative offices.

Amenities at the senior living community will include a dining hall and catering kitchen, community room, computer lab, fitness center, and bicycle storage, according to the housing authority’s website. Sixty of the residential units will be one-bedroom, seven will be studios, and four will be two-bedroom units.

Evara Health will offer preventative care, chronic disease management, same-day visits, and geriatrics.

The project team includes architecture and design firm Wannemacher Jensen Architects and general contractor LEMA Construction, both based in St. Petersburg.
