Douglas Gardens Residences at Miami Jewish Health has opened in Pembroke Pines, Fla., according to the Pembroke Pines News.

The $139 million development represents the largest affordable senior housing development in Broward County and the second largest in the state of Florida, according to a news release.

The project combines an affordable senior living community for residents ages 55 and older with a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) medical center operated by nonprofit Miami Jewish Health (Miami), which partnered with developer McDowell Housing Partners (Miami).

Douglas Gardens Residences occupies 14.2 acres of the 25-acre campus and houses 410 units—40 more than typically allowed under local zoning due to a density bonus tied to a Broward County affordable housing incentive, reports The Real Deal. Units range from studios to two-bed, two-bath floor plans.

Amenities include a pond with walking paths, a fitness center, community room and library, business center, and pet grooming station.

The 15,000-square-foot PACE center offers primary care, physical and occupational therapy, and mental health services.
