Discovery Village At Sarasota Bay held a ceremony to break ground on its new $30 million senior living community and wellness center in Bradenton, Fla.
The community, situated on an 11-acre parcel, is the third Discovery Village in Florida developed by Discovery Senior Living Florida (Bonita Springs, Fla.).
According to a press release, Discovery Village At Sarasota Bay will have a Grande Clubhouse building that comprises a three-story wing of 30 apartment homes for supervised independent living; three-story wing of 66 apartment homes for assisted living; and a one-story wing of 30 suites for memory care. It will also have two dining rooms, social areas, game room, bistro and ice cream parlor, bar and lounge, movie theater, a wellness center, a fitness center, indoor heated wellness pool, professional beauty salon and spa with barber shop, media center with cognitive brain fitness, and a multifunctional art, hobby and craft center and activity room.
Features and amenities will include onsite therapies, an on-site Medicare-certified home healthcare agency, concierge services, gourmet meals, and more.
Construction work is expected to begin in November. The architect is Architectural Concepts Inc. (Largo, Fla.), Wegman Design Group (Naples, Fla.) will provide interior design services, and The Douglas Co. is the general building construction management firm for the project.
Community & Southern Bank, HJ Sims and Synovus Bank are the construction financing providers.
