Developer Kara Casa (Burleson, Texas) is planning a 55+ active adult pocket community in Kennedale, Texas, according to an article in the Fort Worth-Star Telegram.
The Cardinal in Kennedale will feature 48 homes divided into community pods that open into communal parks, gardens, and lawns. The 800- to 1,200-square-foot cottage-style homes will feature porches and an enclosed parking space. The layout of the homes will be reminiscent of 1930s and 1940s design concepts, which centered on smaller neighborhoods and starter homes.
The project team includes D2 Architecture (design; Dallas) and HKS Architects (design; Dallas); HKS recently announced that it expanded its senior living practice with the addition of senior living specialists from D2 Architecture. (Read the news announcement here.)
