Bethany Senior Terraces Opens In East Flatbush, New York

Bethany Senior Terraces has opened in East Flatbush, N.Y., according to a news release from the New York Governor’s Office.

The 55+ community, developed by senior services operator RiseBoro Community Partnership (Brooklyn, N.Y.), houses 57 affordable units, including 45 studio and 12 one-bedroom apartments. Twelve units are designated for residents who have experienced homelessness, and on-site supportive services are provided by RiseBoro.

The fully electric building is designed to meet 2020 Enterprise Green Communities Plus and Passive House standards, incorporating sustainable features such as energy recovery ventilation (ERV) systems, LED lighting, and Energy Star appliances. Additionally, rooftop infrastructure is capable of supporting a future solar array.

Amenities include community rooms, stepped outdoor terraces leading to a shared garden, a hydroponic greenhouse, and a community kitchen that will host gardening and cooking demonstrations.
