Senior living provider Benchmark Senior Living (Waltham, Mass.) is planning a spring opening for its new Benchmark at Alexandria, an independent living, assisted living, and memory care community in Alexandria, Va., according to the website usatoday.com.
Situated in West Alex, a mixed-use development with more than 100,000 square feet of retail and dining, the community will include a rooftop deck with a kitchen and fireplace overlooking the Washington Monument, multiple restaurant-style dining venues, micro farms to grow herbs, a recreation room, hair salon, massage room, and fitness and wellness centers.
The residential units will range from studio to two-bedroom options with accessible-designed bathrooms and kitchenettes, as well as underground parking.
The project has been designed to WELL Building Institute and LEED standards, which prioritize health and energy efficiency.
The project team comprises Moseley Architects (architect; Baltimore), Whiting-Turner (general contractor: Arlington, Va.), Davis Construction (general contractor, Rockville, Md.), and SKA Engineers (structural engineer; Potomac, Md.).
