Affordable housing developer Atlanta Housing (Atlanta) has secured financing for Atlanta Civic Center, a mixed-use, mixed-income 55+ senior living community in Atlanta, according to finance.yahoo.com.
The project entails redevelopment the of former civic arena as well as new construction. The initial phase will develop 148 one-bedroom units in a 6-story building, with 74 underground parking spaces and amenities suited for active seniors.
Amenities will include a fitness room, computer lounge, arts and crafts space, and communal areas. Five hundred square feet of commercial space will be available at the south end of the first floor, where a café is planned.
The project is a public-private partnership between Atlanta Housing and Civic Center Partners—a joint venture of co-developers The Michaels Organization (Atlanta), Sophy Companies (Atlanta), and Republic Properties (Atlanta).
