Real estate development and advisory firm the Benoit Group (Atlanta) and the Housing Authority of Birmingham District (Birmingham, Ala.) opened Southtown Senior, a new affordable senior living community in Birmingham, according to al.com.
The new community houses 143 units for independent living, as well as amenities such as a community space and business center.
The project is of a larger project to redevelop former public housing on a 26-acre site, which will include a hotel, medical office complex, parking garages, retail space, and up to 560 intergenerational housing units.
