Senior assisted living and memory care provider Aegis Living (Bellevue, Wash.) opened Aegis Living Lake Union in Seattle, according to the website 425business.com.
The community includes assisted living, memory care, and respite care. The assisted living units are available in studio and one-bedroom options while the memory care community features studio and companion suite models.
The project is designed to meet the global green building standards for the Living Building Challenge Petal Certification through the International Living Future Institute ( Seattle), and is currently registered for Living Building Challenge 3.1 Petal Certification for Energy, Place, and Beauty. The audit process and performance period will begin once it reaches full occupancy.
The community is also participating in the City of Seattle’s Living Building Pilot Program, part of the City of Seattle’s Climate Strategies to reshape building and transportation systems for a fossil-free future.
Additionally, Aegis Living Lake Union will be a pilot site for Aegis’s new Symphony program, which provides wellness services to residents with dementia such as musical therapies.
