The City of San Clemente (San Clemente, Calif.) and nonprofit health group MemorialCare (Fountain Valley, Calif.) are planning to demolish an abandoned MemorialCare hospital building to make way for a 55+ senior residential community and healthcare center in San Clemente, according to an article in sanclementetimes.com.

Situated on 6.3 acres, the community will include 250 residential units, including studio, one-, and two-bedroom options. Four percent of the units will be designated for low-income housing.

Additionally, a 7,500-square-foot healthcare center with urgent care, primary care, and specialty services will be built adjacent to the senior living community.

The project team comprises Saddleback Memorial Medical Center (developer; Laguna Hills, Calif.), TCA Architects (architect; Irvine, Calif.),  Hunsenker & Associates (civil engineer; Irvine), and C2 Collaborative (landscape architect; San Clemente).
