Rural Ulster Preservation Company (Kingston, N.Y.) and developer Richard Gerentine, a principal at Girondini LLC (Marlboro, N.Y.), are partnering on the Silver Gardens senior apartments in Lloyd, N.Y.
The project broke ground in April and will consist of a three-story independent living building with 57 one-bedroom apartments for seniors 62 and older. Twenty-nine of the apartments will be for seniors who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, according to the Westfair Business Journal.
The building will utilize a geothermal heating and cooling system and Energy Star-certified appliances.
Amenities will include a community room with outdoor patio, computer lab, and fitness room.
