Healthcare provider Sea Island Comprehensive Health Care Corp. (Johns Island, S.C.) and developer Nix Development Co. (Greenbelt, Md.) are partnering on Esau Jenkins Village, an affordable senior living community in Johns Island, according to the website charlestonbusiness.com.
The 72-unit community will include 61 one-bedroom units and 11 two-bedroom options.
The $26 million project will deliver two, three-story residential buildings and one amenity building, which will house a community room, fitness center, and computer station. A walking trail and outdoor gathering space are also planned.
Ward Mungo Construction LLC (Columbia, S.C.) is serving as construction manager on the project.
The project is scheduled to break ground in February.
