Senior living developer Integrated Development II (Northfield, Ill.) is planning Sofia at Hawthorn Mall, a senior living community that will be integrated into a mixed-use mall redevelopment at the Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills.
The 255,290-square-foot, five-story community will house 82 independent living units, 60 assisted living units, and 24 memory care units. Each unit will feature a private balcony.
Residents will have access to roof gardens and dining spaces. Ground-level amenities, including a bistro, salon, and landscaped plaza, will be accessible to the public to create intergenerational experiences.
The project team comprises SAS Architects and Planners LLC (architect; Northbrook, Ill.), Hint Harris Interiors (interior designer; Atlanta), Walsh Group (general contractor; Chicago), CE Anderson & Associates (structural engineer; Chicago), and Steen Engineering (mechanical engineer; Crystal, Minn.).
