Woodland Terrace in Danville, Ind., is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) nestled in a tranquil, rural setting, designed to feel like a resort allowing seniors to live life on purpose, supported by personalized care and hospitality services. The development is planned for middle-market buyers but includes an amenities-rich environment. In addition to a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, residents also enjoy being conveniently located near local dining venues, recreational parks, and healthcare centers.
The 115,000-square-foot master planned campus includes cottage homes and a central community building featuring 24 memory care, 65 assisted living, and 21 independent living units. Focused on providing an abundance of interactive amenities, areas include activity/multipurpose spaces, a bistro with both indoor and outdoor areas for dining, a salon, demonstration kitchen, fitness center, inspiration center, and chapel. Areas for respite and intimate conversations can also be found throughout, including quiet reading nooks and customized puzzle tables in the book-lined den. Various small, flexible gathering areas punctuate the corridors with short stretches of furniture and curated artwork. Outside residents can take advantage of walking trails, raised garden beds, water features, covered outdoor seating, and an open-air courtyard.
Materials such as marble, patterned tile, and wall paper bring a chic, contemporary feel inside. Decorative pieces are layered in to play up a world travel and eclectic feeling that give the impression of having been curated over time. To further the resort-like quality of the community building, the front- and back-of-house spaces are designed to separate residents from facility functions, taking the institutional feel out of the community and heightening the experience for residents.
