Lifecare Properties (Biloxi, Miss.) identified a need for assisted living and memory care services in the Waco, Texas, market, inspiring the development of the 93,000-square-foot Blake at Waco. The 112-unit luxury community houses 71 assisted living units and 41 memory care units.

Opened in October 2021, The Blake at Waco was designed to reflect the modernization occurring in Waco while simultaneously staying true to the area’s Texan roots. To capture this, the Banko Design (Marietta, Ga.) team chose to incorporate natural wood elements—for example, in custom millwork—complemented by inviting fabrics on pillows, drapes, and furniture. A southern-inspired art packages showcases florals, Texas landscapes, and historic references to Baylor University. Additionally, the design team used a color palette of greens and blues, inspired by the rolling hills and expansive Texas blue skies.

Amenities include assisted living and memory care dining rooms, a bistro, salon, country kitchen, library, sitting rooms, theater room, and a large courtyard.
