Owner/operator Phoenix Senior Living (Roswell, Ga.) wanted to give residents the benefits of small-town living coupled with the convenience of luxury-style accommodations and amenities. In September 2020, The Phoenix at Braselton opened in Hoschton, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, to provide residents just that.
The three-story community features 90 independent living units, 48 assisted living units, and 24 memory care units, with a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom options. It was designed to allow for a surplus of circulation, well-proportioned rooms, and amenity spaces such as a salon, gym, yoga studio, game room, movie theater, bistro, pub, and private dining room that cohesively flows into the outdoor spaces. Outdoor amenities include walking paths through gardens, courtyards with covered patio areas, a playground, and a heated swimming pool with a poolside bar.
On the interiors, Banko Design (Marietta, Ga.) created an aesthetic for the 186,000-square-foot community that follows the traditional lines of a southern country club but is accented with modern details seen in the contemporary, decorative lighting throughout the community and the bold, color palette of various reds, blues, greens, and neutrals, that enhance the traditional rich, dark browns seen in the classic mill work and leather seating.
