The Woodlands At Furman Begins Multiphase Expansion

The first phase will add a community village with wellness center and is expected to be completed by September 2020.

The Woodlands at Furman, a university-based retirement community, affiliated with Furman University, in Greenville, S.C., recently broke ground on a multimillion-dollar expansion project.

The first phase of the project, a 13,000-square-foot space with a wellness center, therapy pool, massage room, locker rooms, and a full-service salon, is expected to be completed by September 2020. A following phase will add 44 independent living apartments and expand and renovate the dining facilities.

The multiphase project ultimately will include more than 40 new independent living services and an expansion of the dining and bar services.

Dallas-based architecture firm three, served as the design architect for the expansion.

The Woodlands at Furman is a nearly 50-acre campus adjacent to Furman University.
