An expansion to Wauwatosa’s Lutheran Home, dubbed Elaine’s Hope, has reached its fundraising goal and is nearing a mid-January opening date. According to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the expansion in Wauwatosa, Wis., cost $12.6 million and includes a one-story building with 24 living units and a two-story building with 48 units.
Reporter Evan Casey writes: “A one-story connector building was also constructed, which connects the old facility to the new one. This building will include a community center for residents. In all, the expansion will add 45,000 square feet to the campus.”
The home currently houses 40 people in its memory care unit and the expansion will increase that number to 72. A single room at the expansion is 250 square feet, while a suite is 520 square feet.
