With a backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Oquirrh Mountains to the west, Utah’s capital city will welcome the 2019 Environments for Aging Expo & Conference April 7-10.

This year’s EFA Expo features an exciting lineup of keynote speakers. Attendees can catch all general sessions in the North Ballroom (times and days noted below):

Monday, April 8, 8:30-9:45 a.m., Designing a Future of Healthy Brains
As a “techno-optimist,” Dr. Corinna Lathan, founder and CEO of Anthrotronix, believes that we can purposefully design a future where technology enables us to live longer, healthier, more prosperous lives. In this opening keynote, Lathan will explore the impact of technology—the Internet of Things, robotics and artificial intelligence, and virtual reality—on us as humans and how we can shape the human-technology interaction to have a positive effect on our lives.

Tuesday, April 09, 2019: 8-9:00 a.m., The Village Effect
Psychologist, journalist, and author Susan Pinker will examine how in-person connection is crucial for learning, happiness, resilience, and longevity. Exploring the different types of connections people make, from tight bonds of friendship and love to looser in-person bonds, she’ll discuss how, as we grow older, strong social bonds and uninterrupted face-time with our friends and families are integral to thriving.
